Why i don’t see Indonesian bug/hassle the person or company who made the promotional short clip, that inadvertently included the Pendet image? rather than innocent ordinary Malaysians?
It seems like every other issues it was misdirected & misplaced. Everytime Malaysians & Indonesians squabble, their enemies are winning, think about it..

Well, the malay claimed our tradition maybe because we didn’t keep and respect our own traditions and cultures. But that doesn’t mean I’m pro to that. I really respect the culture of Indonesia, and I don’t want other country “steal” them. But, let’s forget all the fuzz and keep our remaining culture properly, okay? There’s no use of insulting each others country. And for malaysians who respected Indonesian cultures, we are very sorry if some of the Indonesian ever said not-so-nice things. Because, some of my friends in my school kinda’ did *I’m still in 8th-grade*

I find it strange that we malaysians are accused of stealing the pendet dance in spite of all the explanations given. Until recently we didn’t even know that it’s called pendet and it does not exist in malaysia at all. It seems that the minority of indonesians seem to have it embeded in their thick skulls that we stole tari pendet no matter what explanations being given. Even my indonesian friends here find it peculiar with the sort of reaction by the people back in their homeland as they find it to be a non-issue among the malaysians here. We have more important issues in our daily life to think about rather than going to war over such issues. Being a keroncong musician, i find that majority of the indonesian workers here know almost nothing about keroncong. Don’t these people appreciate their culture ? Mind you keroncong was brought to Malaysia in the early part of the 20th century by javanese workers before the existence of malaysia & indonesia. Do i need permission to play keroncong ? What’s important here is if you are angry please be angry by all means with the guilty party, not with the whole of malaysia. My money was stolen by indonesian thieves a few yearsago but i’m only angry with those thieves not with indonesians in general. I don’t have any reason to hate the middle aged indonesian lady who sweeps the office floor or the indonesian manual labourer who carriers bags of cement at the construction site. Let common sense prevail, get the facts right and resolve the issue before we(malaysia & indonesia) become the laughing stock of the world!

why it seemed that malaysia really enjoy to do such things to our country, because if we could just take look for a while, tari pendet it’s being claims was not for the first time they have done it with their ways so many times and indonesia was really an open minded country and always give them apology even they always did the same thing again. what a great country that i had. really sorry but that’s a fact.maybe that’s why alot of people in our country was so upset.

not every Indonesian have sour feeling towards Malaysians. Sometimes it’s beyond common sense, but we do have a long history of conficts and disputes and there are some lines that shouldn’t be crossed, but crossed anyway.

We here in Malaysia don’t know really, why are our brothers and sisters in Indonesia have sour feeling towards us, why suddenly? Jangan kerana nila setitik, rosak susu sebelanga or jangan marahkan nyamuk, kelambu dibakar. We are serumpun and being that we are of course share a lot of things, Saya faham apa kamu cakap … itu bahasa Indonesia kah? bahasa Malaysia kah? no problem bacause we are BROTHERS and SISTERS and don’t get carried away with small matters. As siblings we eat, sleep, solat, quarrel, laugh together … air dicincang tidak akan putus, don’t you think so? If I’m wrong, just give slap on my wrist, I’d say I’m sorry, let just forget it and get along.

Actually, they don’t claim tari pendet comes from Malaysia. But by including it in their ad they give the impression to tourists that tari pendet is from Malaysia. Very sneaky. Regards…
