Which Parts of Indonesia are your favorite?

Recently my Indonesian followers on Twitter have wondered why all I speak about is Bali and the truth is that just like so many Westerners I know little about other parts.
So I asked the question “What’s your favorite part in Indonesia?”

and in response I have received some great pictures of areas I have never even heard of.

Here are the pictures and the names of the areas alongside the Twitter accounts or websites of those who have provided me with them:

  1. Yet, there is another place worth mentioning, The Baduy of Indonesia. The villages may be considered unsuited for tourist destination because that its lack of tourism infrastructures like electricity, hotel, transportation and suitable information. Anyhow, the current existence of the people is unique and wondering. Do they really secluded themselves? Why they reject modernity intentionally? Must we respect their right to choose lifestyle they have been through for centuries?
